Q and A: James Costa Believes That Vegans Are Heroes

James Costa, director of the acclaimed documentary, Lunch Hour, will be available for a Q & A session with the audience following the film at The Seed. Attend the first public screening of Lunch Hour in New York City at 2:30pm on Saturday, June 16!

 

 

QUESTION:How long have you been vegan, and what was the motivation behind your decision to go vegan?

ANSWER: Vegetarian for 10 years. Vegan for about 4 years.

 

QUESTION: What aspect of The Seed are you most looking forward to?

ANSWER: It will be my first The Seed event, so I’m just excited to be going.

 

QUESTION: What is your favorite vegan restaurant and dish?

ANSWER: That’s not fair. Hangawi and Candle 79. I never go to NYC and not do both.

 

QUESTION: That new vegan product/service have you recently discovered, and liked?

ANSWER: The vegan menus at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. It’s like a vegan Disneyland.

 

QUESTION: What vegan product/service couldn’t you live without, and why?

ANSWER: Kale Chips! Come on, who can have just one.

 

QUESTION: What is the most important piece of advice you would give to a new vegan?

ANSWER: Don’t ever give up. Nobody said it was going to be easy.

 

QUESTION: What is your favorite common vegan myth to disprove?

ANSWER: That vegan food has to suck.

 

QUESTION: What vegan related question do you most dread being asked, and how do you answer it?

ANSWER: You know it as well as I do, “Where do you get your protein?” My answer is, “I love kale and too much protein is not good for you.”

 

QUESTION: Who do you wish were vegan?

ANSWER: The rest of the humanity would be a good place to start.

 

QUESTION: With which celebrity, who is vegan, would you like to have dinner with, and why?

ANSWER: I don’t really have any vegan celebrity crushes. As Us Magazine always tells us, “Celebs are just like us!”

 

QUESTION: Who is your vegan hero, and why?

ANSWER: Anybody that tries going vegan. Whoever that person is just saved a life by making a conscious decision of what they ate. In my book, that is a hero.
